Behind Kindred Skies.

Kindred Skies Official began with a simple purpose: to write songs that reach people where they are. Songs about faith, grief, hope, struggle, healing, and the moments when words alone don’t seem enough.

I’m Peter Soord, the songwriter and creative director behind Kindred Skies Official. I write the lyrics and shape the story, structure, arrangement, instrumentation, vocal style, and final direction of each song. The performances may be created with modern production tools, including AI-assisted vocals and music generation, but the heart, message, and artistic decisions remain deeply human.

For me, the song always comes first. If it can make someone stop for a moment, remember someone they love, hold onto their faith, or simply feel less alone, then it has done what I hoped it would do.

Why I Write

Music has always had a way of reaching places ordinary conversation sometimes cannot. Many of my songs come from lived experience, faith, loss, family, and the people I meet along the way. Some are quiet prayers. Others are stories. Some simply begin with a line that refuses to leave me alone.

The Faith Behind the Music

Faith is at the center of much of Kindred Skies. Songs such as The Cross, The Scourging Post, This Too Shall Pass, and At the Table were written to tell familiar truths in a way that feels personal and immediate—not to preach at someone, but to invite them into the story.

The Porch

Somewhere along the way, Kindred Skies became more than the songs. A small community began forming around them—a place we affectionately call The Porch. It has become a gathering place for encouragement, conversation, prayer, laughter, and people simply showing up for one another. That part of this journey means more to me than numbers ever could.

If you found your way here because one of these songs meant something to you, then you are already part of the story. Welcome to Kindred Skies. ❤️
